Yoga

The tradition of Krishnamacharya.

Tirumalai Krishnamacharya was an Indian yoga teacher, Ayurvedic healer and scholar.  Often referred to as ‘the father of modern Yoga’. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential yoga teachers of the 20th century and is credited with the revival of hatha yoga.

His beliefs and teaching include;

·       The ‘Yoga Sutras interpreted by Patanjali’

·       Every student is ‘absolutely unique’

·       Teach the student according to his or her individual capacity at any given time.

This meant that the path of yoga would mean different things for different people and that each person should be taught in a manner that he or she understood clearly.

‘What is important is the way we feel the postures and the breath’ TKV Desikachar (The Heart of Yoga) son of Krishnamacharya.

The yoga journey is unique to everybody as everybody is different.
